Knowing me, knowing you…April 14, 2019
Knowing me, knowing you….
No we’re not about to start singing ABBA tunes…what we are going to do is introduce you to all the local businesses we work with, letting you know the people and dogs behind the names.
Since starting Dog Friendly Tours two years ago, Jo has met many dog friendly business owners and 25 years in sales and marketing has taught Jo that building relationships with people face to face creates a more positive outcome for both parties. When people meet they are more likely to support and recommend their business to others.
As publisher of Belfast & NI In Your Pocket visitor guide, Heidi has also brought 15 years experience in the local tourism industry to their new business. In creating the Dog Friendly NI Map, both Heidi and Jo have met each of the featured businesses. We pride ourselves in knowing the listed venues and the people behind them, providing you with authentic information gained directly from the horse’s mouth or should we say dog’s snout?
Building on the map listings we are delighted to introduce our latest feature – Paws About Town. Each month we will give you a little insight into the owners and their dogs behind one of our Dog Friendly NI businesses. As our nominated charity, Rosie’s Trust Operations Director Jayne McStay and her whippet Margo are the first in the spotlight. This wonderful charity supports pet owners who are elderly or going through cancer. Volunteers help to walk and care for their pets, avoiding the need to separate owners from their beloved companions.
Dog Friendly NI is more than the map. Our vision is to provide a platform to promote dog friendly businesses, promote health and wellbeing of dogs and dog owners and provide tools to educate and support dog owners and businesses.
Our extensive contact list enables us to provide NI dog owners with an new online resource and reference guide of dog businesses and events. Registered businesses can now upload training classes, dog related fundraisers, dog activities, dog tours and more to the Dog Friendly Events calendar, providing the 40% of local dog-owning housyeholds with a reference site of things to do across NI with their dog.
This newly enhanced online presence for Dog Friendly NI has been the result of hours of voluntary development work by Jo, because she believes passionately in what she does.
We love what we do…and we love that you do too.
