It’s all go at Smithvale Dog Centre Lisburn!June 12, 2019
MUTT Club and more
Today I spent the morning at Smithvale Dog Centre in Glenavy just outside Lisburn. Owner Valerie Stephens runs the centre with her husband and is assisted by resident dog trainer Louise Scott . Valerie has developed the Centre over the past three years, and it is going from strength to strength providing dog owners with a variety of dog training programmes, such as enrichment hour, puppy and adult dog classes, the New Hoopers classes, Scentwork and more.
Combine that with the superb onsite facilities offered at Smithvale, and dog owners have a wonderful dog friendly environment to learn new skills and cater for your dogs needs.
Every 2nd Wednesday in the month, Smithvale runs a #MUTT club (Meet Up and Train Together). It’s a fun sociable morning for owners and dogs (£10) with treats, tea and coffee provided. Today Louise Scott demonstrated the new #hoopers course for dogs which helps develop a bond between owner and dog, and teaches dogs new skills and obedience in a fun way. The hoopers classes must be booked in advance with Smithvale. Other new classes starting are ScentWork classes provided by Louise which will be starting on 10th July (one place left) and the next course will start on 29th July. Louise will also be starting new puppy and adult dog training classes on 28th June at Smithvale.
The facilities at Smithvale are top notch with indoor and outdoor arenas, complete with agility equipment (for dogs!) plus additional fenced grass areas for dogs to run about freely. This is an excellent dog boarding kennels for dog boarders who get to roam freely in the fresh fields during their stay. There’s not much noise in the kennels at night time – they are all fast asleep after their days activities!
